Jay McMahon To Debate Democratic State Senator On Driver’s Licenses For Illegal Immigrants This Sunday

September 30, 2022

Should illegal immigrants be eligible for driver’s licenses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts?

That topic is scheduled to be debated by two Massachusetts political figures on Sunday.

WBZ political analyst Jon Keller will host a debate about ballot Question 4 at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, October 2. State Senator Lydia Edwards (D-East Boston) is set to debate Bourne attorney Jay McMahon, the Republican nominee for attorney general, on the topic, according to Politico.

The question asks whether or not Massachusetts should keep a law it passed earlier this year that makes illegal immigrants eligible to obtain driver’s licenses starting on July 1, 2023. Edwards will argue for keeping the law while McMahon will argue for repealing it.
