Joe Biden Touts Support From Bernie Sanders

April 18, 2024

President Joe Biden touted his support from U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) on X, commonly known as Twitter, this week.

Biden posted a video of Sanders expressing support for Biden on the social media platform.

“You may have disagreements with President Biden,” Sanders said in the video. “I certainly do. But if you believe in democracy, if you believe in justice, if you believe workers’ rights and women’s rights, Donald Trump must be defeated, and President Biden reelected in November.”

Biden then reiterated the sentiment from Sanders.

“I’m proud to have your support, @BernieSanders,” Biden posted. “Bernie’s right — from workers’ rights to women’s rights, it’s all on the line in November. We must defeat Donald Trump.”

In this instance, “women’s rights” is a euphemism for abortion.

Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, unsuccessfully sought the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 2016 and 2020.
