Kanye West Registers As Write-In Candidate In Connecticut

Kanye West is not on the ballot in Connecticut in the 2020 general election, but he took a step recently to ensure that his votes will count there.

West registered with the state as a write-in candidate, notifying state officials of his presidential bid, according to The San Francisco Chronicle. If a write-in candidate does not alert the state ahead of time then typically, that candidate’s vote total will not be counted.

The only New England state where West will be on the ballot is Vermont.

West’s impact in Connecticut and Vermont will likely be minimal. Joe Biden is the overwhelming favorite to win both.
