Karyn Polito Probably Won’t Run For U.S. Senate In Massachusetts Next Year
December 4, 2023
Former Massachusetts lieutenant governor Karyn Polito probably will not run for U.S. Senate against U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Cambridge) next year, a GOP official said.
Massachusetts Republican Party chairman Amy Carnevale told WCVB’s On The Record (broadcast on Sunday, December 3) that while she hoped Polito may give it a shot, it’s unlikely.
“I certainly was hoping that she would enter the race. I don’t, unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going to happen,” Carnevale said. “I think she’s enjoying a little time off right now, focusing on her family.”
Warren, 74, has served in the U.S. Senate since 2013. She is considered a heavy favorite to win a third term.
