Kevin O’Connor Wants Seven Debates With Ed Markey

September 15, 2020

Kevin O’Connor hasn’t had a debate yet, but he wants six more than he’s scheduled to have with his opponent in this election cycle.

The Dover attorney and Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Massachusetts has one debate scheduled with Democratic Senator Ed Markey so far, but he doesn’t think that’s enough. He wants seven — one more than Markey had with U.S. Representative Joseph P. Kennedy III in the Democratic primary.

“Senator Markey and I, as everyone knows, have substantive disagreements, and we live at a time of crisis,” O’Connor told WGBH News. “We deserve from our leaders, at a minimum, transparency and responsible dialogue.

“Senator Markey has that opportunity in this election, and he has that obligation to the people of Massachusetts and the taxpayers of Massachusetts.”

The only scheduled debate is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, October 5. It is to be hosted by WGBH News.
