Maine Democrat Criticizes Biden Vaccine Mandate

September 13, 2021

U.S. Representative Jared Golden (D-Maine), who represents his state’s right-leaning Second Congressional District, is not happy with a recent move by President Joe Biden’s administration.

Golden disagrees with Biden’s coronavirus vaccination mandate. On Thursday, September 9, Biden ordered that companies that employ 100 or more people must mandate coronavirus vaccines for their employees or require them to provide a negative coronavirus test every week.

Golden disagrees with the approach.

“While I personally think getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is a good thing to do, I am generally skeptical of blanket mandates from the federal government,” Golden told Bangor Daily News of the policy.
