Maine Governor Janet Mills Bashes Maine Republicans For Wanting To Let Bay Staters Travel Freely To The State

In Maine, Republicans in the state legislature want to ease the requirement that people from Massachusetts have to quarantine for 14 days to enter the state, but the state’s Democratic governor, Janet Mills, is not buying it.

Members of the Republican delegation want travelers who come from states with a 5 percent or lower weekly positive test rate to be able to come to Maine without quarantining or being tested for the virus.

“For the life of me, I cannot understand why Republicans care more about Massachusetts money than the life of a Maine person,” Mills said, according to WJAR-TV Channel 10 in Providence, Rhode Island.

The proposal would also allow people from Rhode Island to travel freely to the state.
