Maine Hotels Open Up For Those Who Take Coronavirus Tests or Quarantine For Two Weeks

In Maine, out-of-staters are welcome back at hotels — with a catch.

As of Friday, June 26, to be allowed to stay at a hotel in Maine, someone either has to provide proof that he tested positive for coronavirus or be willing to quarantine for 14 days to prevent the virus from spreading.

This requirement has resulted in many people cancelling their trips to Maine, as the Associated Press reports.

Another problem at hand:  there are only four testing locations in Maine where someone can get results in 72 hours or less.

The testing-and-quarantine rule does not apply to visitors from Vermont and New Hampshire.
