Marianne Williamson Backs Bernie

February 24, 2020

Bernie Sanders got an endorsement from a former 2020 presidential candidate on Sunday.

Marianne Williamson, who has never held elected office, announced at a Sanders rally in Austin, Texas on Sunday, February 23 that she would be endorsing him, according to Fox News.

Of the endorsement, Williamson tweeted:  “What happened in Nevada on Saturday was extraordinary, and the energy is unquestionably with Bernie. A 40 yr-old trend of capitalism without conscience — corporate elites and their errand boys in government — have created the inevitable blowback in the form of a political revolution. That revolution is one that Bernie Sanders now leads, and I want to do everything I can to further its success. I am honored to endorse him.”

With 87.55 percent of precincts reported as of Monday morning, Sanders had 47.1 percent of the vote in the Nevada Caucus, more than double that of former Vice President Joe Biden, who was in second place, as Politico reports.

Williamson dropped out of the 2020 race in January.
