Martina Navratilova Unhappy That Male Won Girls’ Track State Championship In New Hampshire

February 14, 2024

Martina Navratilova says she’s not happy that a male won a girls’ track state championship in New Hampshire last weekend.

Kearsarge Regional High junior Maelle Jacques won the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 2 girls’ track state championship for high jump on Sunday, February 11, with a jump of 5 feet 1 3/4 inches, as NewBostonPost previously reported.

Navratilova, a former professional women’s tennis champion, reposted a post from the Independent Council on Women’s Sports that featured the winning jump from Jacques and a link to NewBostonPost’s article on the topic.

“And I will keep saying this as nauseum until the rules change — women’s sports are not a place for failed male athletes,” Navratilova posted on the social media platform widely known as Twitter.

The post had garnered more than 26,000 likes as of Wednesday afternoon, February 14.
