Marty Walsh Won’t Run For Governor of Massachusetts

January 24, 2022

He was reportedly interested in running for the post, but Marty Walsh won’t be the next governor of Massachusetts.

In the wake of news that Democratic attorney general Maura Healey is running for governor, CNN asked the current U.S. Labor Secretary and former Boston mayor whether he will pursue the post.

Walsh said no and that he enjoys what he’s doing now.

“I love Massachusetts, I love my city of Boston, but I’m serving the people of the United States of America right now,” Walsh told the network on Thursday, January 20, the same day that Healey announced her bid.
