Massachusetts Blueberry Season Fast Approaching

July 2, 2024

It’s almost blueberry-picking season in Massachusetts.

The state, home to over 80 pick-your-own blueberry farms, is approaching the short window of the year when the local crop is ready to eat, according to Mass.gov.

Blueberries in Massachusetts are typically ripe for picking from mid-July through the end of August, according to the state’s web site.

Massachusetts has a relatively small blueberry industry, with local farms selling about $4 million of the crop per year, according to WCVB.

The state’s blueberry industry is much smaller than Maine’s, valued at over $80 million per year, according to RFD.
