Massachusetts Primary Early Voting Starts Next Week

August 15, 2022

Starting next week, people will be voting in-person in the 2022 Massachusetts statewide primary.

While primary day is not here yet — that’s Tuesday, September 6) — voters will be casting ballots well before then. The first day of early in-person voting is Saturday, August 27; early voting is set to conclude on Friday, September 2, according to the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office. That means on September 3 through 5 — which is Labor Day weekend — there will be no in-person voting taking place in the Commonwealth.

The primary election is for candidates only; there will be no ballot questions before voters until the November general election.

The winners of the primary elections will advance to the November general election.
