Maura Healey Says She’s Glad Elizabeth Warren Wants Another Term

March 31, 2023

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Cambridge) is running for re-election in 2024 — and Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is happy about it.

Healey welcomed the news that Warren is seeking re-election on social media this week.

“Her entire career, @ewarren has been a fighter for working people and a powerful advocate for change,” Healey tweeted. “She’s an important voice in the Senate, and I’m so glad she’s running for re-election!”

Warren is expected to win her re-election bid without much trouble, according to Sabato’s Crystal Ball. The election forecaster puts her seat in the safe Democratic category.

Healey is currently considered a strong potential candidate to run for the U.S. Senate once either of the Democrats who currently represent Massachusetts there — Warren, 73, or Ed Markey, 76 — leaves.
