Maura Healey Won’t Commit To Seeking Re-Election As Governor of Massachusetts

August 8, 2024

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is currently focusing on one election — and it will not be competitive in the Bay State.

Healey said her electoral priority is the 2024 presidential election between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

She said this in response to a question asking if she plans to seek re-election in 2026.

“In terms of elections, the only election I’m thinking about is November and defeating Donald Trump,” Healey recently told State House News Service.

Massachusetts is a safe Democratic state in presidential elections.
