Maura Healey Won’t Say If She’ll Run For Governor

September 23, 2021

Will Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey run for governor next year?

She still won’t say, although she’s not ruling it out.

“My position on that hasn’t changed at all, it’s something I’m considering and thinking about,” Healey told GBH News on Tuesday, September 21.

Healey isn’t the only Massachusetts politician who hasn’t announced plans for the governor’s race next year. Incumbent Republican Charlie Baker still hasn’t announced what he plans to do, nor has lieutenant governor Karyn Polito.

If Healey were to run, it’s expected that she would be the favorite to get her party’s nomination due to her name recognition.
