Melrose Resident Files To Run For Governor As A Democrat

March 2, 2021

Add another Democrat to the list of those interested in running for governor in Massachusetts next year.

The newest addition to the list is Melrose resident Scott Donohue. He filed a statement of organization with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance on Thursday, February 25.

Donohue does not have much of an online presence, so his background and stances are unclear.

So far, four Democrats have filed statements of organization in this race:  Donohue, former state senator Ben Downing (originally from Pittsfield, now living in East Boston) Harvard professor Danielle Allen, and Quincy resident Scott Khourie.

No one on the Republican side has yet filed a statement of organization to run for governor.
