Will former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney vote to convict President Donald Trump in the U.S. Senate?
Last time Trump was impeached, Romney was the only Republican to vote to remove Trump from office in either chamber of Congress. Now, with the U.S. House voting to impeach Trump over “incitement of insurrection” in response to the protest-turned-riot at the Capitol Building last week, Romney could vote to remove Trump again.
Here is what he had to say about the matter earlier this week:
“When the president incites an attack against Congress, there must be a meaningful consequence,” Romney said, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. “We will be considering those options and the best course for our nation in the days ahead.”
