Moderna Will Make Most of Its Coronavirus Vaccine In Massachusetts, Company Says

Moderna seems on track to mass produce coronavirus vaccines.

If that happens, most of the vaccines will be made in Massachusetts, Moderna co-founder Noubar Afeyan told GBH News earlier this week. The Cambridge-based company is already producing vaccines at its facility in Norwood.

Moderna has developed a coronavirus vaccine the company says is about 95 percent effective. The company applied for emergency use authorization earlier this week with from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to start distributing its coronavirus vaccine.

Moderna’s stock has risen dramatically over the past month. It was at $69.81 per share on November 4 and closed at $157.26 on December 3.
