New Hampshire racing officials say there will be a NASCAR race in August — with fans.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway will have fans in the stands for its NASCAR Cup Series race on August 2 — which may be the first major sporting event in New England to have fans in attendance since March.

The state’s governor, Chris Sununu, a Republican, said that the venue can use 35 percent of its capacity, as MassLive reports. The expectation is that there will be social distancing in seating and concession stands, as well as frequent sanitation of high-touch areas, access to hand sanitizer, and limited guests in suites. Fans won’t be allowed on the infield, according to the new rules.
