No Reenactments at Lexington and Concord This Year
April 17, 2021
For the second year in a row, there will be no in-person reenactments of the skirmishes that began the American Revolution at Lexington and Concord.
The coronavirus emergency has led reenactors to cancel in-person events, which usually occur on third Monday of the month, which is a state holiday known as Patriots Day. Instead, the Lexington Minute Men have scheduled certain events online.
This year, the third Monday happens to be on April 19 — the actual anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, which occurred in 1775. This is the 246th anniversary.
A list of virtual events is available on the town of Lexington’s web site.
