Planned Parenthood Endorses Maggie Hassan’s Re-Election Bid

October 21, 2021

The race for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire may end up having two people who support legal abortion running against each other next year, but the Planned Parenthood Action Fund is not wasting anytime backing the Democratic incumbent, according to WMUR.

The organization will back U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-New Hampshire) for a second term as U.S. senator. This comes under speculation that current Republican governor Chris Sununu may run for U.S. Senate in the state; Sununu signed a budget bill earlier this year that restricted abortion in New Hampshire after 24 weeks with an exception to protect the life of the mother. It also required that women see an ultrasound before having an abortion.

Although Sununu signed the bill, he is not pro-life.
