‘Reopen Cape Cod’ Rally Set for Sunday, April 19

April 18, 2020

A local conservative group is planning to hold a rally called “Reopen Cape Cod” at the Bourne Rotary this weekend.

The number of new cases of coronavirus is trending downward in Barnstable County, which consists of the 15 towns on Cape Cod, a county official told The Cape Cod Times this week.

An organizer of the rally, Adam Lange of Brewster, told The Cape Cod Times that it’s time for businesses to start re-opening on the Cape so that poor people hit hardest by the economic downturn can go back to work.

Lange said rally participants will observe social distancing during the rally, which will include American flags and political signs. He described the rally as nonpartisan.

The United Cape Patriots is the sponsor of the rally.

The rally is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at the Bourne Rotary, which on the Cape side of the Bourne Bridge.
