Reproductive Equity Now Endorses Maura Healey

Maura Healey got a pro-abortion organization’s endorsement this week.

Healey received the endorsement of Reproductive Equity Now (formerly called NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts).

“When I think reproductive freedom champion, I think Maura Healey,” Reproductive Equity Now executive director Rebecca Hart Holder said in a press release. “At this moment of crisis, strong state leadership on reproductive equity issues is critical to expanding access to abortion and other reproductive health care. Maura has been a fierce defender of reproductive rights throughout her storied career, from her work investigating dangerous crisis pregnancy centers to her stalwart advocacy for the ROE Act in Massachusetts. While state legislatures across the country continue their hostile rollback of abortion rights, our Commonwealth will remain a beacon for reproductive freedom with Governor Healey at the helm.”

Healey earned the endorsement over the other Democratic candidate in the race for governor:  state Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz (D-Jamaica Plain), who also supports legal and publicly funded abortion.
