Republican Leading U.S. House Race Polls — In Rhode Island

June 29, 2022

Rhode Island may elect a Republican to the U.S. House of Representatives this year.

That’s because former Cranston mayor Allan Fung, a Republican, leads against all of his potential challengers in the state’s Second Congressional District, according to a Boston Globe/Suffolk University poll released earlier this week.

The poll found that Fung leads six Democrats in head-to-head matchups.

The most competitive matchup would be with incumbent General Treasurer Seth Magaziner; Fung leads that matchup 44.9 percent to 38.5 percent. Meanwhile, his biggest lead is over Providence firefighter Cameron Moquin (45.8 percent to 32.1 percent).

It’s an open seat race; incumbent Democrat James Langevin isn’t seeking re-election.
