Rhode Island Accidentally Sends Out Tax Refund Checks With Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney Signatures

In Rhode Island, 176 tax refund checks issued by the state had a slight misprint.

The pre-printed signatures on those checks featured the names Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse due to an error in the state Division of Taxation’s automated refund check printing system, as CNN reports.

The signatures came from the division’s test print files. The names that are supposed to be on the checks are those of state treasurer Seth Magaziner and state controller Peter Keenan.

The checks have been voided and cannot be deposited. Instead, state officials say they will issue the recipients new checks.
