Rhode Island Easing Coronavirus Restrictions Tomorrow

May 6, 2021

The coronavirus pandemic rules will become less strict in Rhode Island on Friday.

Indoor capacity limits will rise to 80 percent with three feet of social distancing required between groups. The allowed size of social gatherings will also increase to 25 people indoors and 75 people outdoors. The indoor mask mandate is still in effect, though, as WJAR reports.

While restaurants are currently at 75 percent capacity, office-based businesses can only have 50 percent of their workers in-person at a time right now, according to the state’s Web site.

All capacity limits will no longer be in effect as of Friday, May 28. However, indoors there will still be three feet of social distancing required.
