Seth Moulton Won’t Challenge Biden For Democratic Nomination Despite Wanting Someone Else To Run

July 10, 2024

U.S. Representative Seth Moulton (D-Salem) wants to see the Democratic Party have someone other than Joe Biden as its presidential nominee, but not himself.

Though Moulton has called for a change at the top of the ticket, he has no plans to challenge President Biden for the nomination at the convention, a spokesman for his office told NewBostonPost.

“No, congressman Moulton is not considering that,” Sydney Simon, the spokesman, wrote.

Moulton explained to ABC News earlier this week why he wants someone else to run.

“I think President Biden has done an amazing job for America. He’s been a great president. And he’ll go down in history as a great president. But it’s absolutely essential that we beat Donald Trump in November. And I’m afraid that the data that we have right now, what we’re seeing is that President Biden is not best positioned to do that,” Moulton told ABC. “And so, it’s time for a change at the top of the ticket.”
