Sudbury Public Library Organizing ‘Family Pride Day’ In Mid-June

June 8, 2023

Sudbury’s public library is organizing a “Family Pride Day,” an event for all ages, on Sunday, June 11.

The description for the event says there will be “food and ice cream trucks, crafts, bubbles, book fair, author visits and rotating performances on a center stage!”

An additional advertisement mentions there will be a “diverse book fair.”

NewBostonPost contacted a spokesman for the library, requesting details about the “diverse book fair” and the “performances” that will be taking place. The spokesman could not immediately be reached.

Goodnow Library, as the town’s public library is called, provides a list of twenty-two books on “transgender issues” for “young children” on its web site. Titles include I Am Jazz, about a boy who has known he was transgender since he was two years old; and It Feels Good To Be Yourself: A Book About Gender Identity.

There are an additional five books for children over the age of 10, including The Gender Identity Workbook for Kids:  A Guide to Exploring Who You Are.
