Summer Camps Reopen In Rhode Island — With Strict Limits

June 29, 2020

As of Monday, June 29, summer camps could open back up in Rhode Island.

The camps in the state were allowed to re-open in accordance with phase two of the state’s re-opening. They are expected to practice social distancing, and must have submitted plans to the state on how they aim to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The maximum group size allowed is 15 people, including children, staff, and counselors.

That restriction will result in fewer kids at camps each week. For example, one camp expects to have 50 kids a week compared to 450 a week at this time last year, according to WJAR-TV Channel 10.
