Ted Cruz Wants To Process Illegal Immigrants In Nantucket
October 20, 2021
U.S. SenatorTed Cruz (R-Texas) doesn’t want Texas to be the only state to deal with the influx of illegal immigrants at the border.
He proposed the Stop the SURGE Act, or the Stop the Surge of Unsafe Rio Grande Encampments Act. The purpose is to relocate illegal immigrants from South Texas to newly established ports of entry for processing under the Immigration & Naturalization Act (Title 8) and Public Health Service Act (Title 42). His proposed locations are wealthy parts of blue states.
Here are the locations he picked:
- Block Island, Rhode Island
- Greenwich, Connecticut
- Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts
- Cambridge, Massachusetts
- Governors Island, New York
- Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
- Nantucket, Massachusetts
- Newport, Rhode Island
- Scarsdale, New York
- Palo Alto, California
- Yountville, California
- St. Helena, California
- North Hero, Vermont
