Tino Martinez To Serve As An Assistant Hitting Coach In The Cape Cod Baseball League This Summer

May 18, 2023

A four-time World Series champion is planning to coach in the Cape Cod Baseball League this summer.

Former New York Yankees first baseman Tino Martinez will be a part-time hitting coach for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, the team recently announced.

“The Hyannis Harbor Hawks are excited to announce the hiring of new part time hitting coach Tino Martinez! Martinez is a 16 year MLB veteran, 4 time World Series Champion, 2 time All-Star, 1988 Gold Medalist and former first round pick,” the team tweeted.

Martinez was a part of the Yankees’ World Series championship teams in 1996, and 1998 to 2000.

The Cape League is the most prestigious of the summer-baseball leagues for college players. Many who played in the Cape League have later played Major League Baseball.
