Town of Amherst Wants Reparations For Black Residents

Reparations for slavery could soon be a real thing in Amherst, Massachusetts.

The town council voted 13-0 for a resolution stating the town "is committed to engaging in a path of remedy for Black Amherst residents who have been injured or harmed by discrimination and racial injustice," according to the Daily Hampshire Gazette reports.

The biggest crop in Maine is no longer what it once was.

Now, the answer is marijuana. From January to October 2020, medical marijuana sales totaled $221.8 million in the state. That made it far and away the largest amount in sales in a specific crop from Maine. For comparison, sales for potatoes from Maine totaled $184.1 million, for milk it was $123.6 million, and blueberries sales were $26 million in 2019, as MassLive points out.
