Transgender Brookline High Track Runner Wins Girls’ 100-Meter Hurdle Event

A male won a girls’ track and field race in Massachusetts last week.

Brookline High senior Chloe Barnes took first place in the 100-meter hurdle event against Newton North on Wednesday, April 10.

Barnes ran the race in 15.6 seconds — a full 1.1 seconds better than the runner-up, according to Athletic.net. This dual meet race had eight total varsity competitors in this event.

Barnes helped Brookline win an Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Institution Division 1 indoor track and field state championship in the 2022-2023 season, as NewBostonPost previously reported.
