Transgender Flag To Fly Easter Weekend at Newburyport City Hall

The pink, blue, and white Transgender Flag is scheduled to be raised at Newburyport City Hall on Holy Saturday and to fly all Easter weekend.

Newburyport Pride is organizing the flag raising, which the mayor of Newburyport, Sean Reardon, is scheduled to speak at, according to The Newburyport Daily News.

Sunday, March 31 is International Transgender Day of Visibility. This year that’s also Easter Sunday. So organizers are holding the flag-raising event the day before so as not to conflict with religious observances, according to the story.

The flag raising is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, which is Holy Saturday.

In June 2023, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey served as the keynote speaker at the Pride Progress Flag raising in Newburyport.
