Five Massachusetts Republicans React To Donald Trump’s Victory
November 12, 2024
Former President Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election.
Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, receiving 312 electoral votes to her 226.
It was the biggest electoral win for the GOP since 1988 when then-Vice President George H.W. Bush got 426 electoral votes and then-Massachusetts Governor Mike Dukakis got 111 (a faithless elector in West Virginia voted for neither, though Dukakis won the state).
Now, Trump will take office as the 47th president on January 20, 2025.
While Democrats were unhappy with the election results, given their distaste for the former president, Massachusetts Republicans were happy with the results.
Here are five Republican reactions to Trump’s victory:
Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Amy Carnevale
“In Massachusetts, we’ve felt the failures of the Biden-Harris Administration profoundly,” MassGOP chairman Amy Carnevale said in a statement released by the party. “Our Commonwealth faces an unprecedented migrant crisis that will cost the Commonwealth billions, and inflation has combined with our state’s poor fiscal policies to push more residents out than we attract. The MassGOP looks forward to supporting President Trump’s renewed focus on America First policies, confident that better days lie ahead for both Massachusetts and the nation.”
State Representative Nick Boldyga (R-Southwick)
“Amen…. Amen,” Boldyga posted on X (Twitter). “Let’s Get to work! It’s time to Save Our Country, Secure Our Border, and Turn the Economy Around! Congratulations @realDonaldTrump @elonmusk @RobertKennedyJr! Let’s Make America Great & Healthy Again!”
“It’s time to deport violent illegal migrants, drill baby drill, and get rid of income taxes!” he later added.
Former State Representative Geoff Diehl (R-Whitman)
“Trump is resetting the Republican Party to represent the working class and support individual freedoms here in America and abroad! #MAGA,” Diehl posted on Facebook.
East Bridgewater Republican Town Committee
Here is what chairman Myles Heger wrote in a Facebook post on the RTC’s page:
Good morning,
As President Trump said the day he almost lost his life, July 13th in Butler, Pennsylvania “Fight, Fight, Fight” and we have! For the last 8+ years WE have been demonized, disrespected, and to be honest treated like S#!+. All thanks to a false narrative put forth by the media, establishment, and people who don’t love this great country, like we do. They were all wrong! Covid pushed a lot of the good people out, because people wanted to feel warm and fuzzy. There are a lot of very nasty people who have found their way to different Government positions over the last 4 years, and it’s time to “Fight, Fight, Fight” back, and reclaim our Government. As President Trump said 8 years ago, Drain the Swamp! Get involved, Run for office locally, question those in power, hold them accountable, like you have with the MBTA Communities Act locally. It’s time to end the WOKE B.S. and fight back against the stupid politically correct nonsense that has been crammed down our throats by those in charge for the last 4 years. We are back, they know it!
WE THE PEOPLE! The Golden Days are ahead!
Make America Great Again!
2022 Republican Secretary of State Candidate Rayla Campbell
“Let the liberal tears begin,” Campbell posted on Facebook.
