Two New England Republican Governors Win Re-Election

November 5, 2020

A pair of Republican governors in New England overwhelmingly won their re-election bids this year.

Governors Chris Sununu of New Hampshire and Phil Scott of Vermont had no problem winning their races. With the wins, they will serve another two years.

In New Hampshire, Sununu held a 64.74 percent to 33.85 percent lead over Dan Feltes with 85.53 percent of the vote reporting, and the Associated Press called the race for him overnight.

Scott also had a dominant victory in Vermont. With 82 percent of the vote reported in the state, Scott had 67 percent support while David Zuckerman, a Democrat and the current lieutenant governor, had 26 percent support, as The Brattleboro Reformer reports.
