United Cape Patriots Hold Pro-Police ‘Back Our Blue’ Standout at Bourne Rotary

June 6, 2020

United Cape Patriots held a standout at the Bourne Rotary to support police and President Donald Trump on Saturday, June 6.

“Back Our Blue” was a theme of the rally, which drew support from some passing police officers, organizer Adam Lange said.

“One of the officers who stopped to thank us was from Boston, and had a tear in his eye describing what they have been through this week defending their city. We must let our law enforcement know we have their backs as they put their lives on the line each day for us. That’s the least we can do,” Lange said in a written statement after the rally. “The rule of law is a key element of what makes America great. It’s why people all over the world want to live here. Recent events have reminded us just how important it is.”

Jim Lyons, chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party, also stopped by.

Contacted by New Boston Post on Saturday night, Lyons said police need support during this time of widespread riots, particularly in light of the support some public officials are giving to the anti-police demonstrators in cities such as Boston.

He singled out Rachael Rollins, the district attorney of Suffolk County; and Maura Healey, the attorney general of Massachusetts. Both are Democrats.

“We condemn the message coming from the radical left — Rachael Rollins, ‘We are being murdered at will by the police’; Maura Healey, ‘Yes, America is burning. But that’s how forests grow’,” Lyons said in a written statement Saturday night to New Boston Post. “Today we stood together to send a loud clear message that we support our police.”

It’s the eighth weekend in a row United Cape Patriots has held a rally on the Cape. Six have been at the Bourne Rotary.
