Utah Republicans Split On If Mitt Romney Has A Place In The Party

September 3, 2021

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney isn’t super popular with his Republican constituents in Utah.

The U.S. senator drew mixed reactions in a recent poll conducted by OH Predictive Insights. It asked Utah Republicans if Romney has a place in the modern Republican Party.

Of the respondents, 42 percent said yes, 44 percent said no, and 14 percent said they were unsure. The margin of error was 5.34 percent.

With these same respondents, former President Donald Trump was more popular. In all, 58 percent said there is room for him in the GOP, 29 percent said no, and 13 percent said they don’t know.

Romney was elected in 2018 and it’s unclear if he will run again in 2024.
