Vermont Announces More Coronavirus Restrictions

Bars will soon be closing in Vermont due to the coronavirus emergency.

The state’s Republican governor, Phil Scott, recently announced a slew of restrictions that will be going into effect in the state. They include closing in-person service for bars and social clubs, making restaurants cut off in-person service at 10 p.m., prohibiting multi-household gatherings, suspending recreational sports outside of the Vermont Principals Association, and mandating that many businesses keep logs for contact tracing.

“I know this is incredibly discouraging,” Scott said, according to VTDigger. “Especially because many of you have worked so hard. And we’ve had much success for so long. But the fact is, people getting together, not being careful and letting their guard down, is why we’re in this position today.”
