Vermont Saw Record Maple Syrup Production Last Year

June 14, 2022

Last year was a good year for maple syrup production in Vermont.

In fact, 2021 was the best year on record.

The state produced 2.5 million gallons of maple syrup; it made nearly half of the country’s 5 million gallons of maple syrup, according to CBS News.

“This year’s record level of maple production is good news for our sugar makers and our economy,” Vermont Governor Phil Scott told the network.

The maple syrup industry saw a major increase year-to-year. Hamstrung by the coronavirus pandemic, Vermont produced 1.7 million gallons of the sweet substance in 2020.
