Vermont Sees Surge In Fishing and Hunting License Sales

July 22, 2021

More people are fishing and hunting in Vermont amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The state’s Department of Fish and Wildlife says that license sales have increased by 20 percent in the past year, as NBC 5 reports.

The department noted that some people had more free time in the pandemic and that fishing and hunting can provide people with food.

“The department working with fish and wildlife board adjusts things like season flanks and other means to make sure that if we have an increase in participation, it doesn’t have a negative effect on those populations,” Louis Proctor, the commissioner of the Vermont Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, told NBC 5.
