West Virginia U.S. Representative Did Massachusetts Fundraiser This Week

March 22, 2023

A member of Congress from West Virginia held a fundraiser in Massachusetts this week.

U.S. Representative Alex Mooney (R-West Virginia) did a fundraiser at Chateau Restaurant in Andover on Monday, March 20.

The minimum donation to attend the event was $500.  Rick Green, chief executive of 1A Auto Parts, hosted the fundraiser.

Mooney is seeking his party’s nomination for the 2024 U.S. Senate race in West Virginia. It’s a seat Republicans could potentially flip.

It’s unclear if U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia), 75, plans to run for re-election for what would be a third full term. Manchin has served as a U.S. senator since November 2010, after he won a special election to fill a vacancy.

West Virginia trends heavily Republican. In November 2020, Donald Trump beat Joe Biden in West Virginia by almost 39 percentage points. Manchin is the only Democrat in West Virginia among public officials elected statewide.

New to NewBostonPost?  Conservative media is hard to find in Massachusetts.  But you’ve found it.  Now dip your toe in the water for two bucks — $2 for two months.  And join the real revolution.
