It's only Monday and it's hard to envision anyone topping the pathetic liberal virtue signaling that came from the Massachusetts Senate today..Senate President Karen Spilka (D-Ashland) took the Senate floor in a session with virtually no agenda and used her platform to whine about President Donald Trump, comparing him to Nazis and the Holocaust.Yes, Nazis and the Holocaust were bad. But Nazism is a pan-German nationalist movement that ended 80 years ago because its ideology failed. The Nazis inflicted mass human suffering; invaded sovereign countries; started World War II, which killed 80 million people; and inflicted mass-killing against several groups that killed 11 million people, including six million Jews.It has absolutely no bearing on modern American politics, as neither political party resembles that ideology, no matter what garbage the far-left and Dinesh D'Souza spout. In a 20-minute speech, Spilka said "America is becoming unrecognizable" in the first nearly 100 days of the Trump presidency."As someone who lost family members to the Holocaust, I do not say this lightly, but what we are experiencing in America today is starting to feel like Europe in the 1930s," Spilka said, according to State House News Service. "It's not just terrifying. It is enraging."Spilka went on to talk about her relatives who died in the Holocaust, which, although sad, has absolutely nothing to do with American politics. Nobody likes Nazis. "Hear me when I say this, and I say this from the bottom of my heart: as the granddaughter of an immigrant fleeing political persecution, as a descendent of those who stayed in Europe and were subsequently murdered by the Nazis, and as the daughter who lost her beloved father to the horrors of the war even though he came back and it happened years after he came back, I feel the danger of what is happening in America today deep in my bones," Spilka said. "I'm sure many of you do, too. Like many of you, I watched in horror as the administration has kidnapped residents off the streets, off our streets, right here in Massachusetts."Mind you, Spilka is talking about illegal immigrants with past convictions for crimes -- including, in some cases, child rape. She was also referring to a pro-Hamas Tufts University student in the United States on a visa. As a Catholic, I feel great sadness for the civilians being killed on both sides of the conflict, including Palestinians. However, the American government has long designated Hamas as a terrorist group -- and the Trump administration opposes letting terrorist sympathizers into the United States. Spilka's pathetic screed got a standing ovation from the lawmakers present in the Massachusetts Senate chamber, according to State House News Service. The report also said Spilka didn't offer any solutions -- just whining. What lawmakers like Spilka need to realize is they're the reason why Donald Trump wins elections.Politicians like Spilka who vote to give handouts to illegal immigrants -- like free community college and long-term hotel and motel stays -- those who do nothing about men in women's sports and those who vote to offer Gender X driver's licenses and birth certificates -- are exactly the woke weirdos who America rejected at the ballot box in 2025.However, politicians like Spilka won't learn. They'll keep giving fodder to the national Republican Party to help them keep winning elections.
