THE TRIGGERING OF AMERICA: Blue State Patriots Sack Progressives, Will They Protest?

Tuesday’s Super Bowl celebratory romp through Boston’s streets, which may be marred by an all-too-New England forecast of frozen slop (actually, a perfect forecast for this franchise, given its propensity for dealing with just about anything), may also be hampered by a downer of a different sort.
Just when it appeared politics could not interfere with a spectacular Hub bash honoring a fifth ring for Tom Brady, Bill Belichick — and a stunning performance by an unheralded running back hailing from the University of Wisconsin named James White….
I stand corrected. pic.twitter.com/GkhgaFhUOI

The mention of pink hats, in this case, is not a reference to the tried-and-true insult slamming those who stumbled upon post-2001 New England sports excellence without having to suffer the warts of ’86, ’78, anything related to Victor Kiam, Rod Rust, etc. — it’s apparently a reference to the ubiquitous cat-ears “pussyhats” that dominated the National Mall a day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The mere mention of hats and Patriots, however, have apparently conjured up night terrors like this:
@bluemassgroup Tom will be wearing this hat, uggh pic.twitter.com/GHfd3qOFG7

The opportunity to take advantage of a Super Bowl parade honoring a team that completed the impossible by injecting it with politics was not lost on people like Worcester’s Tracy Novick, field director for the Massachusetts Association of School Committees:

It remains to be seen whether Tuesday’s rolling duck boat rally will take on an air of anti-Trumpism (and given our region’s devotion to area teams, the odds are long) but if last night’s social media deluge from the left’s Twitteratti is any indication ….
Behold, Patriots fans — if you thought this was “just another Super Bowl,” below is a smattering of Internet to remind you otherwise:
Good to see Belichick writing Trump another fan letter on the sideline. Like the way Falcons just ran over these mother——-.

But the Falcons won the popular vote.

Lord, don’t let the Pats win by a TD so Trump can crow about how he was right. I can’t.

The Falcons won the popular vote. 🙁

Media attempts to shame Tom Brady for his friendship with Trump backfire… Bigly. My latest @heatstreet https://t.co/pl6WnkRCpu

Tuesday’s parade kicks off at 11 a.m., beginning on Boylston Street outside Hynes Convention Center, and winds up at City Hall.
