Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will ring in the first full week of the new year with a campaign stop in Lowell.

According to the Trump campaign, the candidate will host a rally Monday, Jan. 4 at the Paul E. Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell. The event will begin at 7 p.m.

Since announcing his run for the White House, Trump has made at least three campaign stops in Massachusetts including over the summer at the home of car dealer Ernie Boch Jr. in Norwood, in October at Tyngsborough Elementary School, and at Worcester’s DCU Center in November.

The New York businessman currently leads his GOP primary rivals in New Hampshire, which will hold the nation’s first primary contest on Feb. 9.

Earlier that same day, former President Bill Clinton will make his first campaign stops on behalf of his wife – Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton – just a few miles over the border in Nashua and Exeter, New Hampshire.

Massachusetts will hold its primary contest March 1.
