Maine State University Yanks Credit Offer To Anti-Kavanaugh Students Protesting Susan Collins

The University of Southern Maine, a state university, has yanked an offer of one college credit to students who travel to Washington D.C. to protest U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) as she mulls her decision on U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The president of the Portland school, Glenn Cummings, said the “pop-up course” was briefly offered without the knowledge of the school’s provost, and that the school won’t be offering credit or paying for a bus of student protesters that was scheduled to head to Washington on Wednesday night, according to the Associated Press.

A Maine Republican Party official, Nina McLaughlin, wants to know who was behind what she called a “liberal sham,” according to the AP report, which was published by the Bangor Daily News.
