Fifth Massachusetts State Trooper Pleads Guilty in Overtime Scandal

A fifth former Massachusetts state trooper has pleaded guilty to putting in for overtime pay for shifts he didn’t work.

Retired trooper Paul Cesan of Southwick received $29,287 in fraudulent overtime pay, according to WCVB-TV Channel 5.

Cesan is currently receiving an annual pension of $79,673, according to WCVB. He is likely to get 10 to 16 months of prison at sentencing, which is scheduled for March 2019, according to WCVB.

Cesar pleaded guilty to embezzlement in U.S. District Court in Boston on Thursday, November 29.
