Taser, Punches, Kneeing Have Little Effect on Suspect, Cops Say

January 9, 2019

A 36-year-old man fought with cops even after they used a Taser on him twice and punched and kneed him.

“It appeared as if the strikes had no effect on him,” a Taunton police officer wrote in a police report, according to The Taunton Daily Gazette.

The man used a tool associated with smoking crack cocaine to slash the hand of one officer and dug his fingernails into the hand of another to the point of drawing blood, police said.

The suspect was wanted on two warrants. He is wanted in connection with a home invasion in Cranston, Rhode Island, among other things, according to the Taunton Daily Gazette.

Police officers encountered the man coming out of a known drug house in Taunton on the night of Monday, January 7.

Taunton is a city of about 56,000 people about 32 miles south of Boston.
