July 4, 2019

The Republican Liberty Caucus of Massachusetts plans to hold a public reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Massachusetts State House in Boston at 1 p.m. today to mark the Fourth of July.

According to the organization’s Facebook page:

“The Republican Liberty Caucus of Massachusetts stands for our constitutional Republic. We stand for the individual liberties enshrined in the Bill of Rights, including Freedom of Speech and of Assembly, and private property rights. We believe in personal responsibility. … We believe our liberty & individual freedoms are unalienable rights, and that the government cannot take those rights away, only vindicate and protect them.”

The gold-domed Massachusetts State House is at 24 Beacon Street in Boston, atop Beacon Hill.

The reading is scheduled to take place on the steps in front of the main entrance to the State House.
